A journey through the Romani diaspora and the roots of Gypsy Jazz — from India to Brazil.
A film about encounters, ancestry, and cultural legacy.
Presented as a docudrama, lasting 80 minutes, it tells the story of Louis Plessier ("The Guitarist of Lyon"), the transmitter of Django Reinhardt's legacy , who spent his final years in Brazil at the home of guitarist Mauro Albert. This sealed a transmission of knowledge that connects continents and generations.
Narrated from the perspective of Marie Weiss — Django’s niece, dancer, and instrumentalist — the film brings a vital feminist lens to the Romani journey, amplifying women’s historically silenced voices and honoring their role in passing down heritage.

Virtual Exhibition of Gypsy Music from the Zona da Mata region
With a script and presentation by Clara Clarice, curated by Mauro Albert , and commentary by Marcelo Cigano, two of the most prominent Brazilian Gypsy jazz instrumentalists with international careers, the show brings together guests from Gypsy communities in the Zona da Mata region of Pernambuco and surrounding areas, as well as Brazilian guests, and guests from France, Italy, and Argentina. The work is the result of a project awarded under the Aldir Blanc Law grants for cultural incentives, and is being made available free of charge to the public in podcast format for distribution on multiple platforms, with audio description to provide access for visually impaired individuals.

Mother Elda's Calungas / documentary
The documentary "As Calungas de Mãe Elda" shows the encounter between the puppeteer Leila Gibson, from Olinda, who directs the work, and Mãe Elda, Queen of Maracatu Porto Rico, using the Calungas (dolls) of the maracatu as a bridge.
